Turn one vocabulary list into a retrieval task
Enter three to thirty words from the lesson. Easy keeps the first letter in place; Standard gives a first-letter hint; Challenge removes the hint. Every printed scramble contains exactly the letters of its checked answer, and the answer key is separate.
After solving, ask learners to use one word in a sentence or explain it aloud. Rearranging letters checks spelling recognition, not comprehension by itself. Custom words and the optional print title stay in this browser.
Use this practice well
Choose a difficulty and let learners use spelling patterns or a short hint before checking the separate key. Review the exact letters: every scramble uses the same letters as its answer.
What this develops
Turn 3–30 of your own words into a printable unscramble activity with verified solutions.
A mistake to watch for
Very short or single-letter words cannot be meaningfully scrambled. Replace them with longer words rather than accepting an unchanged prompt.
Ways to use it
- Review a class vocabulary set.
- Make a spelling warm-up.
- Prepare a themed activity for a club.
Scope and limits
Your entered words remain in this browser. The tool does not supply definitions or judge alternate words made from the same letters.
