How our practice sheets work

Question generation, answer keys, sources and print formats.

Questions and answer keys

Math tools create questions from bounded rules and keep the answer with the same generated version. The version code lets a teacher reopen a specific set. Worked steps are included where the task has a definite answer. Open writing prompts provide review guidance instead of pretending that every response has one correct wording.

Each tool has its own scope and options. We check generated answers and shortage cases in automated tests, then inspect representative printed and on-screen sheets. A suggested grade band is guidance only; teachers should select questions appropriate to their learners.

Factual content and attribution

U.S. state abbreviations come from USPS Publication 28; state capitals and regions are checked against the U.S. Census Bureau. The selected country-capital bank is a static snapshot from the World Bank Country API, credited under its dataset terms (CC BY 4.0 with additional terms). Country regions use teaching labels informed by UN M49.

Planet facts are reviewed against NASA. Element names, symbols and numbers come from NIH PubChem, cross-checked with IUPAC. Earth science and history questions use primary sources including USGS and the U.S. National Archives. Question wording and reading passages were written for this project. Facts can change; the cited publishers are the current reference.

Print and privacy

Student copies and keys are separate print views. Your own words in custom puzzle and spelling tools stay in the browser and are not included in the URL. The pilot has no ads or accounts. Successful explicit tool actions are counted by tool and day without visitor identifiers. Google Analytics pageviews load only after visitor opt-in.
