What a question looks like
Answer: Mercury
- Compare the answer with a labeled solar-system diagram.
Separate planet order from planet features
Use the order setting to practise position from the Sun, and the facts setting for stable features such as rocky versus giant planets. A mixed round tests whether learners can switch between the two ideas instead of memorizing one list.
After each answer, locate the planet on a solar-system diagram and describe one distinguishing feature. The questions deliberately avoid moon counts and other figures that can change as observations improve.
Use this practice well
Use a diagram to check order from the Sun, then connect each quiz fact to a visible property such as rings, size, or a rocky surface. Explain why a distractor is wrong.
What this develops
Review the eight planets and basic solar-system facts.
A mistake to watch for
Distance from the Sun and physical size are different ways to order planets.
Ways to use it
- Begin a solar-system unit.
- Revisit planet order.
- Check recall with a new version.
Scope and limits
Planet facts are simplified for school practice and omit evolving research details.
Sources and scope
Planet order and stable features were checked against NASA Solar System references.
